In the Friday, June 25, 2021, full episode recap of Days of our Lives, the DiMera family meets to discuss the new CEO, Rafe dreams about kissing Nicole, and Sami worries about EJ learning the truth from Kristen. In case you missed out, on Thursday’s Days of our Lives episode, EJ walked in on Rafe and Lucas mocking him.
Nicole visits Rafe at SPD. She was hoping he brought Duke the bear to work. He shows the toy to her and they talk about sharing custody and then they get close and make out, passionately. Rafe wakes up stroking his pillow. Ava wakes up beside him and asks if he’s okay. He muses that he dreamed of a bear chasing him. After sex, Ava and Rafe talk about being a weird couple to the outside world. “Who cares what they think,” Rafe says, with a kiss. Later, they have breakfast and Ava reads about EJ’s return and his quest to take over DiMera. Rafe lets her know that Lucas told him EJ returned to ‘reclaim his bride’. Ava’s surprised she went for it. EJ thinks they should combine their strengths, meaning he wants to ensure he and Lucas won’t make trouble for Sami. Rafe won’t but he’s not sure about Lucas, who seemed jealous of EJ and Sami.
Nicole heads into the pub with Henry to talk to Grandpa Lucas. She hopes he’ll distract him while she tries to prove that Grandma Sami got into mischief with him. Inside, Nic and Lucas have breakfast and she admits she and Sami are on the outs because Sami thinks she slept with Xander. Lucas knows. “She seems pretty convinced. She asked me to wear a wire to get the truth out of her. I turned her down, of course.” Nicole’s upset. Lucas tells her not to let Sami get to her. Nicole doesn’t get why she’d think that he would help her get the goods on Nicole. It’s not like they’re close, she claims. Lucas says things have changed between them. Something happened. Nicole asks what it is. Lucas covers and tells her that he and Sami were thrown in the secret room together. He admits sparks did fly. He flashes to making out with her and tells Nicole that things were intense. Lucas is done with her questions. “Why are you so curious?”

EJ reads his tablet while Sami wakes up snuggling him at the mansion. She asks how the stock market is. He hasn’t seen but is reading about his return to Salem. She learns from the article that Jake’s job is in jeopardy and that today’s the vote to figure out who is CEO. They laugh about Jake the mechanic being a CEO. EJ talks about getting Kristen’s vote, which makes Sami nervous. Sami doesn’t think he can find her. EJ’s not worried. “I’ve already found her.” He’s had her under surveillance for a while. He came up with a secure phone line. He grabs his phone. Sami tries to dissuade him. “You could go to prison for aiding and abetting.” EJ crosses his arms over his chest. He’s beginning to think she doesn’t want him to win the votes. She does but she just got him back. “I couldn’t stand it if I lost you again.” Downstairs, Tony tells Steven Hawk on a call that he’s making a drastic mistake but it’s his prerogative. “He’s going to vote to keep Jake on at CEO.” Tony tells Chad that EJ’s got one more vote up his sleeve and Chad tells Tony that Kate should be siding with them. Tony’s surprised since she’s infatuated with Jake. Chad says it’s not like that. Tony assumes Chad has something on Kate to ensure her vote. Chad flashes to blackmailing Kate yesterday. He vehemently denies that and tells Tony that Kate cares about Jake.
In the foyer, Jake talks to Peter who refuses to vote for him. He disconnects, upset but is glad that they have Kate on their side. He’s cocky in thinking that Kate’s the swing vote. Kate eavesdrops on the stairs and accuses him of conspiring with an ex. Gabi blows Jake a kiss. Kate sees and doesn’t look happy but lets it go since she’s still faking blind. She comments that Gabi told her that he was only staying with her out of obligation. Jake glares at Gabi and Kate makes it known that she won’t lift a finger to help him get CEO if that was true. Gabi goes to DiMera to wait for the meeting to be started. Kate asks if she can take Jake’s arm. He says that’s fine and tells her with her vote, she’s doing a lot for him. Later, EJ goes to Chad and Tony and tells them Kristen is no longer his ace in the hole. EJ won’t give up. Shin might see how strong he is. EJ points at Stefano’s portrait. They won’t let him down. The men leave for the meeting.

Sami shows up at the pub and coos at Henry. She obviously isn’t pleased to see Nicole. Nicole thinks she must be happy to have EJ back. Sami gushes about him being back to his old self and thinks it’s awkward for Nic to hear that. Nicole has errands to run so Lucas agrees to take care of Henry and Sami calls the errands “code for sleeping with Xander.” Once she’s gone, Lucas tells Sami to stop poking Nicole. She knows about them and if Sami keeps poking, she’ll poke back. Sami asks if he told Nicole. He didn’t. He also didn’t like how she bragged about how happy she was with EJ. Sami grabs Lucas’ pancakes and eats them as she explains she handled it so Kristen won’t talk.
Nicole visits Rafe. She asks how Duke the bear is. Things are awkward and he says he’s at work and will bring him to her as soon as he can. He has to leave so she decides to wait for Ava. Nicole smiles to herself after he goes. Ava appears and Nicole tells her about her thoughts on Lucas and Sami having sex. Ava doesn’t think she’s grasping at straws.
Everyone comes together at DiMera for the meeting. EJ tries to get Kate to side with him while Jake does the same. EJ greets Li Shin and talks about how he battled his way back. “I’m the EJ DiMera you remember, the man who took this company to its greatest heights.” EJ says he respects Jake but he was always just a placeholder. Li says Chad chose to step back as CEO. Chad chooses now to step back in. EJ says it’s time for a change. “Can we get this over with? Time to vote,” Jake says. Li reads the votes. Shin votes against EJ and Chad and Kate votes for them. “I vote to remove,” she says. Tony grins wildly at Chad and he grins back as Kate looks in Jake’s direction.
