In the Tuesday, June 29, 2021, full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Kate slaps Jake across the face when he apologizes, Lucas is hard on Sami’s marriage, and Chad doesn’t trust EJ. In case you missed out, on Monday’s Days of our Lives episode, Kate revealed to Gabi and Jake she’s not blind.
Allie and Chanel are excitedly standing in front of their Sweet Bits banner at the square. Construction starts soon. They hug. Chanel won’t let Allie down. Paulina pops up. “Why don’t you two just get a room?” She asks. Chanel reminds her mama they’re just friends. Chanel tells Allie her mom likes to flog a joke to death. Paulina offers to take them to lunch but Allie is meeting her dad for lunch to thank him for caring for the babies. Paulina is sure the pleasure was his. She’d like grandbabies too. Chanel tells her not to hold her breath. Paulina laughs. She won’t. She’s going to give her dad samples of their food so he’ll buy them for the pub. She goes and mother and daughter have lunch. Chanel’s been learning bookkeeping, spreadsheets and she swears she can do this. Paulina gets upset and tells her to stop. Chanel asks if she said something wrong but it’s just Paulina’s guilt. She talks about small businesses failing. Chanel knows she’d never let anything happen.
Lani meets Eli at SPD. She’s surprising him for lunch. They kiss. “You can surprise me like that anytime you want,” he tells her. They eat and Eli calls the biscuits delicious. They hope Chanel makes enough money to move out. It sounds like heaven to him. While he was on a stakeout, Lani admits she heard her aunt and dad had sex. Eli coughs up his biscuit. They discuss how her dad talked about it too and that Lani has concerns that if their project goes south, so will the relationship. “Worked out alright with us, right?” Eli says. She asks if he remembers what he was doing a year ago. She pokes and prods at him to get him to recall their wedding and reminds him it’s their anniversary tomorrow. He says he knew. Then admits he had no idea. “Time flew.” She wants to go out and he wants to stay home. She’s disappointed but agrees to it. Once she’s gone, Eli leaves a message for Chanel about their big surprise.
Sami gets a call from EJ who tells her he’s the new CEO at DiMera. Chad walks into the office and interrupts. “Don’t you mean co-CEO?” Chad sits and EJ tells Sami they’ll find a way to celebrate at the house. “We’ll start with champagne.” They say I love yous and Sami disconnects. Lucas feels sick. “I knew you could oust a garage mechanic,” he says, bitterly. Sami accuses him of being a bitter old man while Lucas calls her a doormat. Sami reminds him that EJ offered him to stay there. Lucas again refers to her marriage as being one where EJ is in charge. Sami defends her marriage, but Lucas keeps it up. Sami tells him to shut it and stop bringing up what they did together. Lucas doesn’t like that she dismissed it. She says it was a big mistake and she wishes it’d never happen. “How do you think that makes me feel?” He asks. She snarks that she has no time for his ego and he calls her a suburban housewife. Allie walks in on them. She asks why they’re arguing. Sami tries to deflect. Lucas tells her it’s about EJ. Lucas calls EJ names and Allie says, “He’s still her husband, Dad. Did she ask for your opinion?” Lucas says she didn’t. He continues to snark off and Allie thinks they need a time out. Sami goes.

Jake admits Gabi’s the one he wants. “I love her more than I’ve ever loved anyone in my entire life.” He apologizes to Kate for leaving him after everything Kristen did to her. Kate removes her glasses and reveals shes’ not blind and never has been. They’re shocked. Gabi calls her the biggest bitch she’s ever known. Kate laughs. “You two are the most craven, obnoxious, self-serving creatures she’s ever known.” She calls Jake a bum “with that” by your side, she says, nodding in Gabi’s direction. Kate also admits she doesn’t have amnesia, either. She wanted payback. Gabi defends Jake and calls Kate disgusting. Kate says they had it coming to them. It was nauseating waking up to the two of them talking about being together. Kate put Jake and his career in front of everything. “I would have put the world at your feet but you chose her. So yeah, it needed to be addressed.” Jake apologizes for what she heard in that hospital room. Gabi’s shocked and calls her pathetic and Jake tells Gabi to leave Kate alone. Jake apologizes again a few more times. She thanks him and then slaps him across the face. Kate looks at Gabi and thinks it’s punishment enough for Gabi that she’s stuck with “this loser.” She heard Jake’s old garage is hiring. She saunters out and Jake should have listened to Gabi. She tells him it’s water under the bridge. She wants sex. He refuses. “I can’t live in this nest of vipers anymore.” She offers to kick them out. He wishes he’s never heard the name DiMera and rips off his suit jacket and tie, yelling that he hates everything about this place. He apologizes and laughs. He got carried away. She offers to move out with him. They go upstairs to pack and she asks him for sex again. They go at it.

Back at DiMera, Chad calls his brother a condescending jerk. He knows EJ’s trying to get rid of him. They argue. He’ll never trust EJ. Kate walks in and EJ can tell that she can see. Chad feigns being shocked. Kate had a score to settle and is ready to be back to her normal life. EJ grins. He’s ready to make her an offer provided Chad agrees. Chad smiles. He agrees. EJ goes to celebrate with Sami and Kate tells Chad that she told Jake and Gabi she was playing them for suckers. Chad apologizes for blackmailing her. Kate says it’s fine. “I’d have done the same.”
Outside at the mansion, EJ and Sami kiss. He wants to tell her all about the vote. They head inside and drink champagne, and Sami laughs at hearing Kate was faking blindness and amnesia. EJ calls Jake dumb and EJ tells Sami that people should know secrets come out.
At the square, Chanel goes when her mama’s phone rings. Paulina answers it and tells someone she’s going through with the project. “There’s no turning back.” They should direct everything toward her and leave Abe out of it. Lani appears and questions her aunt.
