Days of our Lives viewers may recall Victor Webster portraying Nicholas Alamain on the NBC soap from 1999 to 2000. He was Vivian Alamain’s adoptive son, though he called her his aunt. During Webster’s time as Nicholas, he returned to Salem from somewhere in Europe claiming to be dying so that he could take revenge on Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo). While those plans were in motion, he met and fell in love with Kate Roberts. They were lovers, though Kate wasn’t ready to commit to him. Finally, he took the hint and let her go. He left and returned to Europe once again.
Though Nicholas wasn’t so lucky in love, Webster has found the woman of his dreams in model and actress Shantel VanSanten. The happy couple became engaged yesterday. Webster had this to say about his proposal, “Well she didn’t say yes…at first, first her legs buckled and she had to sit down, then she started crying and shaking and asking if this was real, then she started kissing me a whole bunch, then crying some more, then asking if it’s real and if I’m playing a practical joke, then… I had to ask if that was a yes and THEN finally she said yes. Been an amazing journey so far, only gonna get better. Now you’re stuck with me. Love you ❤️”
But there’s a story behind the reason VanSanten didn’t yell, “Yes!” It looks as though Webster played a little joke on her before the big question. She responded to his engagement announcement under his post saying, “I am the luckiest lady in the whole wide world to be stuck with you my dear. To be fair I had every reason to ask if it was real. You didn’t shortly before the proposal do a pretend proposal with a piece of ice. Hahahaha thank you for loving me so much!!”
Webster and VanSanten met on the set of Love Blossoms in 2017 and have been together since. The actress posted on her own Instagram, “YESTERDAY WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! We hiked 2000ft to the top of the mountain where @iamvictorwebster told me he loved me for the first time years ago! What happened next still has me in shock… He told me he wanted to spend forever with me, as he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him!! I didnt say anything for awhile, not out of suspense although it would have been a good prank, but because my legs stopped working, I had to sit down and I couldn’t stop crying and kissing him…. I forgot to say anything at all… BUT OBVIOUSLY I SAID YES!!! I cant wait to spend FOR-EV-ER with my best friend!!!! I FUCKING LOVE YOU @iamvictorwebster”

Rachel Melvin and Kevin Barrett
Rachel Melvin, who portrayed Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Billie Reed’s (Krista Allen/Julie Pinson at the time) long thought to be dead daughter, Georgia. Billie thought Georgia died in childbirth but it turned out that she was Chelsea Benson, one of Abigail Deveraux’s friends. When Chelsea’s adoptive parents were killed in an automobile accident, Billie revealed she was Chelsea’s biological mother and moved her in. Melvin portrayed the role on Days of our Lives from 1988 to 2009, when Chelsea moved to England to be with Max Brady (Darin Brooks).
It looks as though Melvin’s getting her happy ever after as well. She announced on Instagram that she was engaged to Kevin Barrett. “Last night my boyfriend gave me a fiancé for my birthday 👰🏻♀️💫🎂”
The couple met in line at Home Depot, and after realizing that they share a passion for renovating homes, DIY endeavors, and adventure, they had drinks and didn’t see each other for a while before they crossed paths again and began dating. They started a website together, Food. Shelter. Sex. What you can find on their website, the couple says, “From delicious recipes and DIY home design projects to thrilling travel experiences and health and survival tips, we hope our material inspires you [to] get the most out of life and that it encourages you to live it as you were meant.”
