On today’s full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Xander blows up at Victor, Susan considers Kristen’s bizarre idea, and Laura dies.
Susan sees Chloe outside the pub. Chloe is bringing clam chowder to Brady. Susan tells her to tell Brady to stay away from stray bullets and once Chloe’s gone, Susan gets a collect call from Statesville, from Kristen. She asks for a visit. Susan looks horrified. What’s she afraid of? “Climate change, murder hornets, you hurtin’ me.” Susan decides to go with it and asks if she wants chowdah. Kristen rolls her eyes at the phone.
At the mansion, Xander thinks Victor has lost his mind because he’s allowing Philip to keep his job. Victor says that regardless of what his son has done, this company will be his one day. Xander is pissed. He reminds his uncle of all the good he’s done for the company. And Philip doesn’t even get a slap on the wrist. Xander has had it. He quits Titan. Victor refuses to beg him to stay. Xandy doesn’t care. It’s too late anyway. He goes and Vic asks if this made his day. Philip admits it didn’t.
Abigail finds Chad shirtless at home. He tells them about the slime battle. They lock eyes and he goes to put a shirt on. He returns and thanks her for letting him take the kids. Chad can’t believe Gwen’s revenge. He asks Abigail to move back in. He wants a chance to show her she can trust him. He’ll work twice as hard on the marriage and go to counseling. Abs has heard that before. He knows. He stammers that all they can do is try to move forward. Chad worries that the longer they stay apart, the more the distance between them grows. Abby says he makes a good point.

Laura visits Gwen at Salem Inn. Laura introduces herself but Gwen knows she’s “the monster” who ruined her life. Laura wants to make amends. She was so riddled with guilt back then which is why she did it and she hoped her mother was taking good care of her with the money she sent. Gwen snarks that Laura knew the woman was a selfish shrew and drug addict. Laura didn’t know. She learns that Tiffany ODd and Gwen went into the foster care system. Laura admits she didn’t care at all at the time. She couldn’t let Tiffany turn Jenn’s life upside down because she’d already hurt her so much. She reveals she slept with Jack. Gwen’s mouth widens in delighted shock. Laura reveals they didn’t know who each other were then. Gwen’s surprised they met at a wellness retreat for people struggling. They met as Clark and Monica. Gwen laughs at the story. “Oh wow, how romantic.” She scoffs and can’t believe how her life turned out. “Maybe I wouldn’t have been the miserable vindictive bitch,” she says that she is now if Laura hadn’t interfered. Laura offers to help get her into the family but Gwen doesn’t see that happening. Gwen wants revenge and grabs Laura by the shoulder, telling her she won’t get away with what she’s done. Later, Gwen sits by her bed alone on the floor. She looks over and sees Laura’s body, with blood on the carpet beside her head.
In the hospital, Brady wants to know when Sarah’s going to release him. She says he needs someone to care for him. Chloe shows up and Sarah goes. Chloe gives him chicken noodle soup from the pub and hauls out some pastry. She eats it, moaning into it, teasing Brady. She tells him he needs to be there and he can’t have the pastry. He just wants to go home. “You’ve been shot,” she reminds him. He needs to hire a nurse. Chloe says he can hire her to take care of him. Brady thinks it’s a bad idea, because of Kristen. Chloe says it’s not like she’s getting out of prison soon. Brady reveals that Kristen caught him in a lie. He told her he wasn’t with Chloe when he was shot and then Chloe picked up the phone. Chloe clarifies that she doesn’t have feelings for Brady, which is why he should let her help him. Brady knows he has a long road back. He agrees.

Susan visits Kristen and Susan tells Kristen how well she thinks Brady’s doing. Kristen blames Chloe Lane for the shooting and Susan says Chloe told her he means a lot to her. She’s headed over there now, in fact. Kristen holds her head in her hands and sighs. She tells Susan, “That tramp wants to steal him away while I’m locked up in here.” Susan’s shocked. Kristen says she can help by impersonating her so she can switch places with her and be with Brady. Susan looks around. She doesn’t want to be locked up in here. Kristen promises it’ll only be for a while. She uses John and Marlena to manipulate Susan into doing her bidding. Susan needs to think about it.
