Sheila Invites Deacon to Live With Her, While Everyone Gossips about Deacon's Hidden Agenda

Hope gets Beth to sleep and tells Liam that Douglas was trying to stay up reading but that isn’t working out for him. She loves nights like this. So does he, which is why he’s trying to protect it. He doesn’t miss the chance to bring up Deacon and how he messes up her life. “Cause that’s what he does.” She understands how he feels but won’t let him take advantage of her. “If he had a hidden agenda, you wouldn’t know that until it’s too late,” Liam points out. Hope wonders why they need to assume the worst. Liam thinks it’s okay to tell someone that they’re out of chances. He reminds her of how many times he’s let her down and he’s still a conman. Hope is walking into this with her eyes wide open. Beth bawls and he offers to check on her.

At the bar, Sheila talks to Deacon about needing each other. Deacon calls Sheila a very attractive woman, “You know for a…a…psychopath.” He doesn’t want to get thrown over a cliff so will politely say no thank you. She jokes, “You’re shattering my dreams.” She thinks they need each other. Deacon needs to be a productive member of society and says if what Sheila’s pitching isn’t on the up and up, he doesn’t want to know. She thinks he’s being presumptuous. She says she’s been a target, been vilified for years. “Is it malicious if it’s deserved?” Deacon asks with a laugh. He notes that the Forresters can really hold a grudge. She starts in on teaming up together. He continues to remind her she’s horrible and she says she’s heard the same about him. His head starts to spin and he reaches into his empty wallet. “Is that a moth I just saw flying out of there?” Sheila offers to pay. He can take care of his own bills. “With what, your library card?” He considers that they may want him to wash dishes. She doesn’t think they want him smashing them. She offers to call him a cab unless he can walk home but he has nowhere to go. She offers him to stay with her until he is back on his feet. He talks about being worried that he’s been drinking and with her, no less. She asks if he expected the Forresters to embrace him. He kind of did. He calls Hope. She answers and he tells her he doesn’t want to cause any problems. Liam returns and Hope has to go. She disconnects and Deacon tells Sheila that Hope hung up on her. Sheila can guarantee that’s not what Hope wanted. Steffy and Liam have a lot of influence, as do Ridge and Brooke. They both become upset and think that they’ve become better people. Deacon can’t associate with their enemies. She asks what he’ll do. Sleep on the beach or an overpass? She has a safe place to stay and has booze. “I’ve got everything at my place that a guy getting out of prison could possibly desire,” she says. He knows it comes at a price. He has to work with her.

Finn arrives home early from the hospital. She’s glad to see him. He says her dad texted. He was sorry to miss him. “He had some gossip,” she shares, telling him about Sheila not being the only unwanted person back in their lives. She tells him that her father took over a fatherly role for Hope. She knew her own father but she knew how much he was hated, and how awful he was. Finn wonders how Hope feels about his return. He goes to shower and returns and they sit on the sofa and snuggle. He’s got Hope on his mind and thinks he can relate to her. Steffy shrugs. She doesn’t see it quite the same and thinks Deacon lost the right to her life a long time ago.
