In the Tuesday, January 17, 2023, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Katie can’t get through to Bill and Liam and Hope reel over the news about Bill.
We also have Monday’s B&B recap where Finn explained why Bill is supporting Sheila to Carter and Katie, and Taylor and Steffy were disgusted by Bill and Sheila’s love, and Katie confronted Bill.
At Bill’s mansion, Katie tells Bill she can see that Sheila’s done something for him.
Sheila argues that he’s with her of his own free will.
Katie says she knows Finn and Steffy are terrified.
She’s certain they’re being blackmailed.
Katie says this isn’t the man she fell in love with, the good father she knows.
She demands he tell her why he’s letting Sheila walk all over him. “Snap out of it, Bill.”
He does the Ridge Forrester stare but says nothing. Katie begs him to call the cops on Sheila.
Sheila calmly asks who she thinks set him free. “Shut up!” Katie barks.
This is between her and Bill. Katie badgers him and asks him to think about Will and Kelly.
Bill’s breathing becomes labored as she begs, yet he still says nothing as she begs him to protect them from Sheila.
She says that’s what the sword is about. She touches it and he says he’d never let anything happen to his kids.
Katie thinks she needs protection from Sheilla too. “She’s toxic.”
Katie calls him smart and strong. He knows how to love.
She sobs and Bill’s visibly affected. Katie knows Sheila will destroy everything good inside him.
“Don’t let her do it!”
Sheila is tired of the insults and says there is nothing she can say to keep them apart.
She tells Katie they’re in love. She tells Sheila she’ll pay for her crimes.
“Tell her!” She urges Bill. “Say something. Tell her I’m right.” Sheila puts Katie in her place.
She’s his ex and doesn’t get to tell him what to do. Sheila claims Bill did everything right but she still rejected him.
“It’s our time now. Mine and Bill’s.” Katie calls her crazy.
Bill stares at the floor as Katie tries to get him to see things her way.
He stands motionless and Sheila tells Katie to get out.
Katie says this is her son’s home and she has a say in her being there. Sheila denies that she can make demands.
Sheila tries again to kick her out while Katie begs and sobs for Bill to tell Sheila to get lost.
Sheila says, “Bill, you tell me to leave and I’ll leave.” Bill tells his ex-wife, “I think you should leave, Katie.”
Katie’s thrown. What’s happened to him? Sheila claims he’s found love for the first time in his life. Katie leaves Bill crying.
Sheila thanks him. She felt heard and understood.

At the cliff house, Finn and Steffy get a visit from Liam and Hope who heard about Sheila’s release.
What happened?
Did the judge not believe them?
“What the hell happened?” Liam asks.
“Your father happened,” Steffy says. She tells them Bill is blackmailing them over Taylor shooting him.
Liam and Hope are over that and as much as she hates Sheila, Steffy couldn’t risk her mom’s freedom.
Liam gets it but what about the other charges?
She escaped prison! Finn explains the judge is in Bill’s pocket. Liam clasps his head.
“Oh my God.” He’s stunned to learn Bill and Sheila are involved.
Liam’s shocked. Steffy says she asked and he told her Sheila wasn’t lording anything over him.
Hope reels. Liam remembers finding the earring and wig at his dad’s.
He grosses out. He has to talk to his dad. Hope worries that her aunt Katie is alone with Bill and Sheila.
Steffy says Katie has to come through for all of them.
