Weds Oct 18 recap of B&B: Li tells Finn the awful story about her and her sister, Eric refuses to listen to the doctor’s orders and admits he’s been coughing up blood for weeks.
Tuesday’s B&B recap: Donna Discovers Eric Coughing Up Blood and Asks His Doctor if He’s Dying, and Finn Prods Li to Reveal Why She Hates Luna
At Forrester Creations, the fashion showdown is weighing heavily on Ridge’s mind.
Brooke gets him to open up.
He loves his dad he says and doesn’t get why his dad wants to pick this fight.
Ridge is sure he’ll win this and Eric won’t know what to do.
Brooke paces and finds it “crazy” that RJ’s doing this with Eric.
Ridge doesn’t know what she means. He’s glad his kid is working and learning from the best.
“Just not the best in this competition.”
Ridge sits at his dad’s desk and recalls sitting there as a kid. He respected the man.
Brooke says he knows that and thinks Ridge is doing a tremendous job.
Ridge says his dad can give suggestions but “I’m running this company now.”
He needs to go live his life. What Eric is doing is wrong, Ridge insists.
He’ll do this all over again in a few years since he’s going nowhere.
Eric’s not happy that Dr. Colin Colby made a house call.
Donna doesn’t care and asks Colby to tell them what’s wrong with Eric.
Eric’s never felt so good in his life, he claims.
Colby’s glad to hear but doesn’t know what the diagnosis is.
He asks Donna to help Eric off with his blazer and he listens to his heart and then his lungs with a stethoscope.
Eric says it’s been a few weeks that he’s been coughing up blood.
This startles the doctor who calls it “very serious.”
He can’t shrug it off. He needs to take it easy.
Eric isn’t shrugging it off but is focused on work.
Donna shakes her head and tells the doc about the “silly challenge” Eric and his son have.
Eric barks that it’s more than that.
Donna apologizes and explains the silliness.
“Honey Bear, you have nothing to prove,” she says.
He’s one of the finest designers in the world.
He tries to get her to understand how important this is.
The doctor reminds him of his age and Eric is offended and barks about how he turned the fashion house into an international enterprise and nothing will stop him.
He has to do this. It’s who he is as a man, an artist.

Daily B&B spoilers into October
The doctor purses his lips and Donna tears up.
She wants a second opinion because they don’t even have a diagnosis.
Colby understands and will be in touch with “a game plan.”
Once he’s gone, Eric repeats that he’s not finished, not like that old stapler that Ridge tossed because it was too old and didn’t function.
“Well, I function,” he clarifies.
Luna jogs into the design room and gives RJ a drink.
She wanted to thank him for defending her to Aunt Li.
RJ thanks her for the drink and is grateful he was able to open up to her about his grandfather’s situation.
He leaves the room momentarily to run an errand and she thinks of kissing him.
When he returns, he says he wishes he could tell his dad about his grandpa’s illness, and they embrace.
In Finn’s office at the hospital, Finn demands answers from his mother about Aunt Poppy.
Li tries to brush him off but he pressures her and says to stop stalling.
Li says her sister disrespected her and almost ruined her career.
She had no direction so she helped get her a job at the gift shop at the hospital.
“When the chief’s surgeon’s wife found out about their relationship, I paid the price,” Li intones.
Her sister turned her life upside down and she won’t allow Luna or Poppy to do that again.
When the surgeon’s wife found out, all hell broke loose and she started losing shifts.
Finn wouldn’t remember since he was so young but she was transferred to Memorial.
She chokes up. She was the only female surgeon in her class but did her sister care? “No!”
She repeats that she won’t let her family ruin their lives.
Her sister had no regard for the sacrifice she suffered. “Our parents. It’s just not fair,” she says.
